tpelton@nationalhonorguardacademy.comInstructor Pelton serves as the Academy Publicity Officer. He is married to his beautiful bride, Andy, for more than 37 years and lives in Cheshire, Connecticut. Their daughter is out of college and more importantly off Dad’s benefit plan! Throughout his entire lifetime Tim has had two core philosophies. He is passionate about helping people and doing so with integrity.
After graduating high school, Tim was off to college and the Navy in the 1970’s for invaluable life experiences. The next 20 plus years were spent in leadership and entrepreneurial roles in both the pubic and private sectors of the health care industry.
To fulfill an expanded role of helping people, Tim has spent over 20 years in the fire service and trained as a critical incident stress management specialist responding to major disasters throughout the country and supporting numerous funerals.
Tim has been an active member of the Cheshire (CT) Fire Department for over 20 years and recently stepped down as Assistant Chief. He has also served as the Director of Training, Hazardous Materials Response Chief, Public Information Officer, and Health and Safety Officer of the department. Tim is also very active in the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) field and directs a team in Connecticut. He is involved in all levels of CISM Training and was personally involved in the CISM responses to the Oklahoma City bombing, the TWA Flight 800 crash, the school shooting in Jonesboro Arkansas, the Lottery Office shooting in CT, the Worchester Warehouse fire, and was in New York City following the attack on America on 9/11/2001.
His core values of helping people and doing so with integrity makes Tim a great fit as part of the National Honor Guard Academy team where family always comes first.
